The Eccleshall Great War Project

Welcome to the Eccleshall Great War Project.

We wish to thank the Commonwealth War Graves Commission for their
permission to reproduce many of the images that appear on this site.

This Eccleshall Historical Society project is to commemorate the centenary of the Great War (1914-1918 (1919)) by recording as much information about the personal, family and military history plus any known circumstances of their death and their resting place or commemoration. of:

to Eccleshall Parish

It is intended to recognise the sacrifice made by those 17 men by adding their names to the war memorial by Armistice Day - 11th November 2018, exactly 100 years to the day that the guns fell silent on the Western Front.

It is planned to complete the work to coincide with the Eccleshall Festival week of 2018 and to include a service of dedication. As was the case for funding the original construction of the war memorial, we have instigated a public subscription to fund the necessary work.

If your feel you can donate, however small that amount may be, then please
